What is your favorite festival?

My favorite Thai Festival is Songkran Day. Songkran Day for me is one of the funniest festivals in Thailand. Songkran Day is the Thai New Years celebration that has roots in using water as a symbol of cleansing for the new year. Of all the feasts and festivals in Thailand, which are many, the Songkran Festival is the most extreme. It begins on the 13th April and ends on the 16th .April,Because I will go to my home and I meet my family too, just have the party at home.

My favorite fesival is Bun Bang Fai or rocket festival.The Bun Bang Fai Festival, held at the beginning of the rainy season, is an important ceremony for Isan villagers. Celebrated with dance, song, music and revelry and, of course the skyrockets, it serves to assure abundant rainfall to guarantee a good harvest and welfare of the villagers.Usually it takes place between mid May and mid June but if the rain is late it might be postponed.Nowadays the building of the rockets is no longer the sole task of the monks, being the one with the knowledge and time to do so. The competitions for the highest flight of a rocket are entered by laymen as well. The rockets are no longer made of natural material. You see all sorts of plastic pipes filled with gun powder, but they are still carried through the village and get the blessing of the monks.

I like Sangkran festivel. That make me have a chance to meet all relative, who live in the different provice. When we meet to all people. We like to do activity together. Such as mini party, sing songs and making something to eat. I like this festivel so much. This is a good chance to meet the new people.

Songkran Festival, I like it!!!!!!!! The Songkran Festival is one of the most important feasts that has been performed not o­nly in Thailand but also in other countries (Laos, Cambodia, etc.) for a long time. It is also known as Thai Traditional New Year Day which falls on April 13 – 15 in a year. It is the great opportunity for merit-making and a special time for Thai people to have fun, traditional music, dance, games, and other activities in the pastime.
There are many activities that we do in this day.
In the morning, people go to the temple to make merits by offering food to monks and novices, observing the precepts, Five or Eight precepts and listening to the Dhamma talk. In the afternoon, they perform the bathing ceremony of the Buddha images and monks and novices who live in a temple. During this time, the younger people ask blessings from the elders. This is known as Water Splashing Feast. It might be said that the Songkran festival is the Respected festival to the elders or the Family Day.

Songkran is the Thai tradition it I like almost. It is a tradition that during the summer, when we met with the hot weater and then have to play the water or splash each other in Songkran festival it makes me feel both enjoy and be happy. Apart from the fun. This festival is also a day of family to include relatives, Once a year.
